An unusual stitch pattern worked in a chubby yarn makes for a thick, warm scarf with nice drape. A variegated yarn creates a beautiful printlike appearance—a solid color would highlight the braided look of the stitch pattern.

HOOK Size K/10 1/2 (6.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

NOTIONS St markers (m); yarn needle; piece of cardboard that measures 5 1/2” wide (to make fringe).

GAUGE 19 sts and 8 rows = 4” square in patt.
