Plan Bee
Plan Bee is a long parallelogram or slanty rectangle designed for playing with colour & bias. The design can be made as a scarf or widened into a stole. The pattern is worked in stripes, alternating between wide stripes of stockinette lace and overlaid with garter lines with lifted stitches.
The pattern was designed for the Pook Yarns Advent Set
of 13 beautiful gradient mini skeins, with (260g/950m) for the main colour, paired with 100g/366m of the contrasting colour.
Rachel has created 2 beautiful gradient sets, one based on the iridescent Tropical Carpenter bee, the other on the blue & gold Augochloropsis Sumptuosa.
It would also suit an assortment of leftovers, or a pair of contrasting yarns or gradients.
- The pattern can be worked entirely from the written pattern, or from charts with accompanying notes.
- Both the length and the width of the wrap are adjustable, so it can be worked to any yardage.
- Suits a range of yarn from heavy lace to sport weight.
- The pictured wrap used a total of 1354m (1480y) Pook Yarns Silky Yak fingering, on 3.5mm (US size 4) needles and measures 240x40cm (95x16in) after blocking.
- The WS makes beautiful rippling lines of colour, so the wrap is somewhat double sided.
- The pattern also includes a fact sheet about bees, their role in the ecosystem and how we can help them.
