This pattern is very adaptable. It’s meant to be made with left over yarn so the type of yarn and thickness really isn’t essential. The gauge is also not essential.

I used two old hair ties for the openings of mine but if you don’t have them or choose not to use them try rubber bands or a foundation chain.
