Crochet pattern to make a fold down grocery bag saver - keep all your plastic carrier bags stored in this handy and stylish hanging dispenser. Your bags will be neatly tucked away and ready to reuse on your next shopping trip. Make one for yourself or gift to your fellow shopaholics!

The pattern to make the bag saver in the photographs uses a single skein of 50g of Scheepjes Catona and will fit up to 8-10 grocery bags. By adding a second skein of yarn, you can make the bag saver even longer if you like and the pattern explains how to do so. The item photographed measures 16 in/40.5 cm long and 3.75 in/9.5 cm wide.

After payment, you will have access to two downloadable PDF documents. One is written in US terminology and the other in UK. It is 11 pages long with helpful tips and colour photographs to assist. You do not need to be able to read charts to use this pattern, each round is fully written out in English. Two charts are also provided for chart readers.

The pattern uses between 50g-100g Scheepjes Catona (depending on size selected). Any equivalent 4 ply cotton yarn may be substituted.

A typical hook to use is 3mm (5/0) , you will also need a matched pair of buttons and darning needle to weave in ends and scissors to cut your yarn at the end.

The bag dispenser is easy to make and I consider it suitable for beginners with only a little experience of the following stitches.
UK - tr, dtr, dtr2tog, ch and ss
US - dc, tr, tr2tog, ch and ss
