Plated Ski Hat
by Nancy Jencks
Here’s a good project for beginning machine knitters; it uses simple techniques but is still interesting to knit. The hat is a great blank canvas for embellishment, if you wish. How about an I-cord appliqued in a serpentine pattern? (I-cord is easy and fast to knit on the machine!) Buttons in an eye-catching pattern? Embroidered dinosaurs? Embellished or not, this is a go-to pattern that’s easy to make your own.
This pattern is easily transferred from one machine to another that has a plating device. It also can be made with either a square top as depicted or a rounded top. See the Designer Note at the end of the pattern for instructions.
