The platelet cell is the Spider Man of the circulatory system, spinning out long sticky strings to catch RBCs in a friendly hug! This cute lil’ thrombocyte is activated and ready to clot its way into your heart. Make a fast, easy, cute gift for a special nurse or pre-med student, or give happy thoughts and support to an ill friend.

To give this guy someone to hug, team him up with my Red Blood Cell and White Blood Cell patterns, sold separately here: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/red-blood-cell-cr...

Finished Platelet is about 3.5 inches (8 cm) in diameter in the body, not including the strands. Strands are about 4 inches (10 cm) long. You can also add more strands in any length you like. You will need an E/3.5mm crochet hook, worsted-weight yarn, two 9mm or 10mm black eyes, about 12 inches (30 cm) black embroidery floss, and polyester fiberfill for stuffing if desired.

Pattern is for those with beginning to intermediate crochet skills. Cell is made in spiral rounds. To make Platelet, you will need to know how to:
