Platypus Neckerchief
This is a fundraising pattern for my late brother, Mino. (1971-2004)
The pattern is updated in Nov 2013 (Ver.2.3)
This is my second neckerchief design which can be used with any leftover fingering weight yarn. This size neckerchief will fit both kids and adults. It is very useful between the seasons, to give your neck a little warmth, and add an accent to your outfit. Platypus Neckerchief can also be a great small gift for family, friends, and teachers.
This pattern includes three different designs which you can play with. Please enjoy being creative and adventurous!
All you need is 20 to 25 grams (80 to 100 yards) of fingering weight yarn of which you do not want to waste an inch, such as Tosh Sock or Tosh Merino Light.
Skills required:
K, P, YO, Kfb, M1R/M1L
All the proceeds of this pattern will be donated to Minoru Hokari Memorial Scholarship Fund at the Australian National University. My late brother, Minoru Hokari (“Mino” 1971-2004) died of cancer at the age of 32. The scholarship fund supports young scholars who study Indigenous Australians through fieldwork. We are trying to fully fund it to achieve its perpetuity. Please help.
Please visit Being Connected with HOKARI MINORU (www.hokariminoru.org) to meet Mino.
