Have you SEEN Cat Bordhi’s Sweet Tomato Heels? Well, they are formed using the most amazing technique for short rows, and these arm warmers use her technique for heels… with a twist. Literally. Yup, you just make her heels, but rotate the wedges to form a tube instead of a heel. I wrote more details about how I did it in the blog post on aknitica. (Click the below.)

To find the how-to for Cat’s Sweet Tomato Heels, you can watch her video on YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRc3309JUyc

Or even better, treat yourself to a copy of her ebook:

Once you’re familiar with her heels, you can make these arm warmers. :)

If you have any questions about my methods, just ask. I’d love to hear from people if my instructions were unclear so I can fix them. I know a graphic would probably be helpful, but I’m still working on learning how to use my computer to do the things I prefer to draw by hand.

Cat Bordhi developed her Sweet Tomato Heel over many months, working closely with over a hundred test knitters of all skill levels. During this time she distilled her illustrations and explanations again and again, until her test knitters and tech editor agreed the instructions were as clear and perfect as possible. In order to be sure that her work is not misrepresented, Cat asks that designers who wish to use her heel in their patterns send their readers directly to her free videos as well as to purchasing links for her eBook, Cat’s Sweet Tomato Heel Socks ($20), and to the eBook’s individual patterns ($6 each). She is encouraged that many knitters have been able to work from the free videos alone; if not, the eBook or individual patterns will give you the detailed instructions, illustrations, and explanations you need.
