Play Puzzler
Pretty colours and squishy shapes provide fun for babies with this cube soft play toy, and is a super start for little ones to learn shapes and colours. The knitted shapes can be stored in the pockets on the sides of the cube.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns in stockinette stitch on single pointed needles (not in the round). This pattern incorporates picking up and knitting stitches to make the pockets, plus increases and decreases for shaping.
NEEDLES
A pair of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles (US 4).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than a 100g/280m skein in each colour.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle and toy filling.
SIZES
One size only - The cube is 14.5cm x 14.5cm x 14.5cm, and 24cm tall including the top handle.
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, and seaming in mattress stitch to finish.
