For this design, two yarns are needed. One is a nor- mal weight for the machine, the other much, much thinner. In the sample, the blue and white yarn is the main yarn. You must know the stitch and row gauge of the main yarn but anything that knits towards the middle range of the machine’s ability may be used. In the sample, knitted on a bulky machine the main yarn is #4 weight and the pink yarn is #2.
