This pattern was originally published in Making No. 9 / SIMPLE in May 2020. The updated pattern available for download here includes directions/yardage requirements for cropped and full length versions and a slight adjustment on the yoke depth in the larger sizes. All photos are from the magazine, taken by Ashley Yousling and Carrie Bostick Hoge. The second model is Brandi Cheyenne Harper.

DESCRIPTION
PLOVER is a featherweight cardigan with clean lines and quiet texture. It is named for the birds whose cheery presence kept us company during the memorable photoshoot on Popham beach. Knit in a rustic single ply at a loose gauge, this versatile sweater is just the thing for cool mornings on the coast or chilly evenings around a campfire. The pattern is worked seamlessly from the top down, allowing you to try it on as you go to ensure the perfect fit.
Plover has a sister pullover pattern, Osprey, which was published in September 2020. View it on Ravelry here.
This pattern is designed to work in anything from fingering to dk/worsted weight yarn. I’ve written up a blog post with sample swatches and some notes about how to substitute yarns at different weights. Read it here!
SIZING
All of my garment patterns are #sizeinclusive up to at least a 60” full bust circumference.
To get a sense of how this sweater might fit you, check out the test-knitting round-up on my blog here.
To choose your size, measure the circumference of your torso around the fullest part of your chest and choose the size that fits with 6-14” of ease. If you are between sizes, you can size up or down depending on whether you want more or less ease in the bicep.
Sizes by finished bust circumference:
In inches: (40, 44, 48) [52, 56, 60] {64, 68, 72}
In centimeters: (101.5, 112, 122) [132, 142, 152.5] {162.5, 172.5, 183}
In the photos, Jacqui is wearing a size 6 with 10” of positive ease at the bust, and Brandi is wearing a size 4 with 12” of positive ease at the bust.
