The Pluma Bandana Cowl is the perfect cold weather accessory and will be a beautiful addition to your Fall and Winter wardrobe. The fringe on the cowl looks like of the feathers in a bird’s wing so I named the cowl Pluma after the Spanish word for feather.

This cowl is an easy project. The stitch pattern for the body of the cowl and for the border are each a one-row repeat.

NOTE: The pattern works for other yarn weights as well because the size is met by measuring the length of the top edge, and not by a row count. And, it’s easily made larger and can be made for a man (without the fringe).

The best part about this cowl, is that there are no ends to tie or wrap and keep in place. The cowl just drops over your head and is the perfect shape to chase the chill away from your neck.

And, the Pluma Bandana Cowl is the perfect project to use up your leftover fingering or sock weight yarn. Or, buy yarn and make several cowls from two different coordinating colors of yarn. Use a hand-painted or speckled yarn for the body of the cowl, and a solid for the border and the fringe, if you choose to add the fringe.

Because the cowl is quick and easy to crochet it’s perfect for gifting.
