I started this hat using Nancy Marchant’s Aliens pattern from her book, “Knitting Fresh Brioche: Creating Two-Color Twists and Turns.” Towards the crown, I end with a feather motif because to me the overall pattern looks like feathers instead of little aliens. ;)

Adult One size slouchy fit

Experience:
Beginner - Intermediate brioche experience with increases and decreases

Yarns:
Any DK weight yarn will work in two coordinating colors
Between 220 - 250 yards used of both colors

Hat in photos was knit in:
Madelinetosh - Tosh DK in Antique Lace (creamy beige) and Oscuro (maroon red)

Gauge:
In pattern, 18 stitches (9 brioche knit stitches and 9 brioche purl stitches) and 20 rows in a 3.5˝ x 4˝ swatch

Measurements:
Depth is 9.5˝ and 19˝ around at the brim (measurement taken after blocking)
