This is an elegant wrapper - so you could wear it as a shawl to a fancy occasion, but do not let it languish in the closest waiting. It is just the thing to toss around your neck while you take the dog for a walk. The magic of this accessory is in the fibre. Mohair is a glossy, fluffy wool that can be knit to a loose and open tension but still miraculously holds its shape.
An oversized scarf like this one can be worn as a generous shoulder draper or scrunched up around the throat like a traditional scarf. In both cases it will feel light and fine.
This scarf is knit with dynamic diagonals, emphasized by a yarn change and a stitch texture change. Garter stitch ridges; knit with a one-ply merino adds shimmer and almost silver highlights to the fluffy mohair that surrounds it. All lines meet in the middle for a completely symmetrical construction. The Plume is knit in four pieces that are grafted together with Kitchener Stitch.

Yarn A: 400m one-ply merino fingering weight, we used Fleece Artist Merino Slim,
Yarn B: 800m lace-weight mohair or mostly mohair blend, we used Handmaiden Angel Hair
4.5mm circular needle 60 cm or longer, second circular needle same size or smaller, for grafting.
1 ring marker, contrast colour scrap yarn to use as stitch holders, you can also use spare circular needles in smaller sizes as stitch holders if you have them available
darning needle.
