This pattern does not contain basic crochet lessons, and you have to know crochet terms and what means crochet in a spiral and in turning rows.

The pattern is written:

  • in US crochet terms;
  • for right-handed.

Crochet terms and abbreviations (US terms):
ch – chain
st – stitch
sc – single crochet
hdc – half double crochet
dc – double crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase
dec – decrease


Materials and tools used in this pattern:
- yarn „Himalaya Dolphin Baby” (100% polyester; 100 g / 120 m)
Yarn consumption:
Mustard (# 80330): ~ 35 g
Black (# 80311): ~ 10 g
Milk (# 80308): ~ 10 g

  • 4 mm crochet hook (for crocheting the toy);
  • 2.5 mm crochet hook (for crocheting the nose) – not necessary if you’ll embroider it;
  • black and white yarn for embroidering whites of the eyes, the muzzle and the eyebrows (in this pattern – „YarnArt Jeans” – 50 g / 160 m);
  • stuffing - polyester fiberfill (hollowfibre);
  • scissors;
  • yarn needles (a blunt-tipped needle with a large eye) - one larger for plush yarn and one smaller for thin yarn;
  • stitch markers;
  • plastic safety eyes 10 mm / 0.39 in (not necessary if you embroider or crochet the eyes).

The size of the finished toy is about 19 cm (7.5 in), if you use specified or similar materials and tools.
