This is a pattern to crochet your own Pocket Pony. The pattern is fairly simple and would make a good project for a beginner to try. The Pocket Pony is so cute that little mistakes would only add to its character!
Gauge is not important, but you’ll want to choose a hook/yarn combination that yields a close, tight result so that your stuffing doesn’t show through. For me, the sweet spot is worsted weight yarn with a 4mm hook. I know many others use smaller hooks to achieve this result. You can experiment and see what size your pony turns out with different yarns and hooks!
With a 4mm hook and I Love This Yarn! by Hobby Lobby, my finished pony is about 4” tall x 5” long (from nose to tail).
I also have a three-part video tutorial showing how to crochet and assemble your pony: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jOCKW7cl-tE&list=PLkR...
Happy Crocheting (and Knitting--see below)!
Update: I have also added instructions to knit your Pocket Pony. I’m a very inexperienced knitter, so hopefully it makes sense!
