A simple but effective knit & purl texture makes up the stitch pattern, for which there is a chart to follow. The chart is super easy to follow - it’s just knit and purl. And once you get going it’s VERY intuitive.

Written guidance is in relation to choosing your size, with written instructions included for the ribbed border, and later on, the crown shaping (3 options given)

Any DK weight yarn with good stitch definition, that gives a similar gauge to the yarn may be used effectively & there is also guidance given if you would like to knit this design in worsted weight yarn.

You can also easily adapt the design to a slouch hat if you follow the guidance given in the pattern regarding hat height before shaping.

The Pink Sample was knit with 2 strands of Shepherd 4 ply Baby Merino & the end result is comparable to worsted weight.
