Pōhutukawa square
This is one of a series of squares I designed that gives a bird’s eye view of a New Zealand native tree. The pohutukawa tree flowers at Christmas time (which is summer in New Zealand) and is often known here as the New Zealand Christmas tree due to when it flowers and its lovely red flowers. I have made this in two different sizes – 5” and 10”. This pattern contains all versions with the 10” square first and the two 5” variations at the end (with a comment in the 10” square letting you know when to change to the smaller variations if you wish). Although I have used pohutukawa flower colours in my original design, this design also looks effective in other colours
