Poinsettia
Poinsettia is a hexagon with a motif of a starlike ponsettia leafage on it that can be joined with others to make a blanket, a throw, a plaid or a shawl. It’s the third pattern of a Frozen Christmass series. The series consists of three free patterns published in winter 2020/2021 - Evening star, Starflake and Poinsettia.
Ponsettia is called “christmass star” in czech.
The diameter of the hexagon is 31 cm (34 from corner to corner).
It’s an image overlay crochet pattern and uses Petranese as a system for description (named after Petra from Black sheep crochet) - quite logical and clear way of describing the stitch placement.
If you wanted to play with the size of the yarn, you can get a rug for your bedroom or your pet or for example a coaster for your Christmass table.
You wil need the following:
– a size 4 crochet hok
– 50g of a DK wight yarn – I’m using Merino from Vlnap (50g = 105m)
– stitch markers – it’s quite easy overlay crochet pattern, but if it’s a new technique for you, they can be usefull
