This pattern was designed to use the entire ball of Noro Ito. This beautiful yarn with its long color changes just begs for a simple, but interesting, pattern that can be knit from one point to the other point, and that uses every bit of yarn. The pattern is also great for aran or bulky yarn that is beautiful, but that doesn’t provide great stitch definition for pattern work. Gauge is not crucial for this pattern, but you do want a looser gauge so the scarf will drape nicely. The scarf can be made skinnier by decreasing the stitch count in multiples of two, and can be made shorter by using less yarn.
