gauge: rows 1-8 measures 1.5 inches (4cm) The ribbing measures 1.25 inches (3.5cm) measurement taken in rows, not across the sts.

I used knit picks brava yarn, a 100% acrylic bulky yarn, and a 5.5mm and 6.0mm knitting needles, and 6.0mm crochet hook for finishing.

2-5y hat measures 9 (brim to back) by 7.5 (back of head that you seam up) inches (23cm by 18cm) unstretched.
