The Spooky season is my favorite time of year! Who doesn’t love scarey movies about evil witches & their poison apples given out to unsuspecting victims?! This spooky crochet square features a poison apple dripping with oozy green goo that’s forming a creepy skull face! The sample images have two different background colors but you could have fun with other color options as well, and use the square in Halloween decor such as blankets, pillows, satchel bags, placemats, etc.

This pattern includes a fully marked chart & written row-by-row instructions.

Any yarn or hook will work, depending on the desired size of the finished square. I used yarn weight of 4 with a 5.5 hook, which creates a square of 13.5” x 13”.

You will need 3-4 colors of yarn - one for the background, and some brown for the stem & lower outline of the apple, red for the apple itself (if you aren’t using red for the background), and then a funky acid green color for the poison, however you can reimagine these colors to your own preference!

This is a great way to use up scraps! For projects using all 4 colors, you will need approximately 2 oz of the background color, 1-1.5 oz of green & red, & just a few yards of brown, when using a worsted or aran (wt 4) type of yarn & a 5mm or 5.5mm hook.

Pattern is in US crochet terms.
