POKO POKO
ポコポコ (Japanese) - holey, full or holes or dents
This wrap is a distant cousin of Moko-Moko cowl design of mine, except this one was born out of experimenting combining modular knitting with dropped stitches. Ultimately a rectanglular shape, but due to the biasing nature of the stitch pattern this wrap turns into a parallelogram. This is beginner level project is quite easy to knit and meditate as you drop certain stitches at the end, but the texture on the finished wrap will surely captivate the gaze of many!
Watch video on me dropping the stitches here.

NOTES
This shawl is worked flat from the bottom up, combining modular knitting and straight knitting. The pattern is worked in 2 sections - Curls and St st rows. Once knitting is completed and before the shawl is bound off, certain stitches are dropped all the way to the cast on to form laddered patterning.
Due to this drop stitch patterning, make sure to join the yarn either at the beginning of each row or by spit-splicing it.
GAUGE
20 sts and 31 rows = 4” / 10 cm in St st worked flat, measured once dry after washing and blocking. (This gauge is provided to get the correct yarn weight to create the right fabric for this stitch pattern)
1 9-st main pattern repeat of Curls + St st measures approx. 2¾“ / 7 cm wide and 2¾” / 7 cm long, measured once dry after stitches have been dropped, washed and blocked
