Polar Bear
A polar bear standing up on his hind legs, 27cm tall. He is knit flat in two pieces then sewn together with only one seam.
The instructions include 12 step-by-step photos showing how to sew his eyes and nose and advice on how to stuff the bear well.
You will need:
- Cascade 220 yarn. Approximately 45g of White (8505) and a small amount of Black (8555) for sewing the eyes and nose.
- 4mm (US 6) needles.
- A small stitch holder.
- A tapestry needle.
- Toy stuffing (about 30g).
Techniques you should be familiar with before using this pattern:
- Lifted increases.
- Decreases: k2tog, ssk, p2tog, ssp and centred double decreases (sometimes called s2kp2 or k3tog).
- Sewing seams using mattress stitch.
