- #5 (12-ply / bulky) yarn in off-white. I used Red Heart’s “Light and Lofty” which is technically a #6/super bulky, but I find it works up much closer to a #5/12-ply/bulky yarn.
(The amount needed depends on the style and size of hat you are making).
- #4 (worsted / medium weight / 10-ply) yarn in black, white and (optional -) dark brown.
