Polar Bear Earflap Hat
In this pattern I will show you how to make the hat and all pieces, and how to assemble it all together. My instructions are super detailed every step of the way, including 42 color pictures to help show you exactly what to do. I also include little notes and tips that that I think a beginner would find helpful.
Use any color to accent the hat for personalization (shown in blue and in pink) or just use white. The eyes and nose are crocheted (no buttons) and the ears stand up on their own (no stuffing).
The style of this hat makes the sizing very forgiving. Even if it is a little too big or too small, it will still look good. I include the following sizes in my pattern:
0-3 months 15”
6-12 months 18”
2T-5T 20”
If one of these sizes is not quite what you need, you can use a different hook size/gauge than recommended to end up with something else. I briefly cover this in the pattern.
The boy in the photo is 4 years old wearing size 2T-5T. This same hat also fits my 2 year old, though the fit is slightly different. It looks great on both of them. The hat with the pink trim is the 0-3 month size.
