Polaris
The flowing rhythm of the small cables make for a pleasant knit and cozy socks. This unisex design fits all genders and are easy to knit.
The pattern is written to work for both fingering and sport weight yarns, so you probably already have the yarn for it in your stash!
Materials
• Yarn: Fingering weight version: approx. 255–290 m / 279–318 yds of fingering weight sock yarn. Sport weight version: approx. 219–250 m / 240–274 yds of sport weigh sock yarn.
• Needles: Fingering weight version: 2 mm / US 0 dpns; Sport weight version: 2.5 mm / US 1.5 dpns; or size needed to obtain gauge.
• Stitch markers (optional)
The grey sample (size 4) was knit with 2 skeins of Markus Company 6-ply (75% wool, 25% nylon; 125 m / 137 yds per 50 g) in Titanium.
The purple sample (size 3) was knit with 1 skein of Hey Mama Wolf Sockyarn #04 (80% wool, 20% ramie; 300 m / 382 yds per 100 g).
The blue speckled sample (size 1) was knit with 1 skein of Stranded Dyeworks Oasis (75% sw merino, 25% nylon; 425 m / 464 yds per 100 g) in Vintage Christmas.
Gauge
Fingering weight version
32 sts x 48 rnds = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch knit in the round, after blocking.
Width of one cable chart repeat (8 sts x 12 rnds) = 2 cm / 0.75” x 2.5 cm / 1”, after blocking.
Sport weight version
26 sts x 38 rnds = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch knit in the round, after blocking.
Width of one cable chart repeat (8 sts x 12 rnds) = 2.5 cm / 1” x 3 cm / 1.25”, after blocking.
Sizes
Fingering weight (1 & 2)
Finished foot circumference (18, 20.5) cm / (7.25, 8.25)”
From cuff to start of heel: (11, 11) cm / (4.25, 4.25)”

Notes
You can knit these socks in either fingering weight yarn or sport weight yarn. Both leg and foot lengths are adjustable. If adding more length, please note you will also need more yarn.
The socks are knit cuff down. The samples were knit with dpns, but the instructions are suited for all methods of sock knitting.
