Ming the Merciless was a simple fellow. All he wanted was to rule the universe, but this upstart football quarterback keeps thwarting him. In one of his attempts to defeat Flash Gordon, he seeds the atmosphere of Earth with a dust that causes the disease Purple Death. Flash and Friends go back to Mongo to find an antidote to the disease and find Polarite does the trick. Nice try, Ming. But once again, it didn’t quite work. These simple socks show off the color of Purple Death without killing anyone at all. Ming would be so disappointed.
