If you want to give Foxhill Farm Yarn a go, but aren’t up for a whole sweater, then you need to knit a hat, right? Three different hat patterns from me and Thea Colman, just in time for Rhinebeck shopping!

The Polka Knot Hat is a quick project knit in the round from the bottom up. Foxhill Farm’s bulky 3-ply yarn builds a toasty warm fabric. The polka knots are fun to work and provide an opportunity to showcase a special yarn. In the sample they are worked in an alpaca yarn with a dreamy halo, but one could also use a multicolor variegated yarn for a confetti effect.

Suggested Yarns
Main color: 1 skein (90 yards, 4 ounces) of Foxhill Farm 3-ply bulky weight, “Bucks Plus” 100% wool
Contrast color: approximately 30 yards of worsted weight or 60 yards of sport weight held double, shown in Graceland Farm 100% alpaca

13 stitches and 18 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch
