Polymer
Polymer is a lace pattern cardigan worked top down in Raglan style. The front of the garment is kept open and the pattern comes with two options for either short or 3/4 sleeves.
Worked in a cotton blend yarn, I find Polymer the perfect companion for cooler autumn or spring days, when you just want to
throw something over.
The lace pattern is easy to remember, yet gives the cardigan an elegant look.
I-cord edges are either added directly or achieved by I-cord bind off.
Sizes
1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) (8, 9, 10, 11).
Bust circumference to fit: 34 (36, 38, 40) (42, 44, 46) (48, 50, 52, 54)” {85 (90, 95, 100) (105, 110, 115) (120, 125, 130, 135) cm}. The pattern is written with a 0.75”-2.5”{2- 6.5cm} positive ease, based on the needed pattern repeats.
To choose the size you want to knit, measure yourself first then decide how much positive ease you want to determine the size you need to follow.
The sample in photo is shown size 3 on a 36” bust.
Techniques
Knitting, purling, slipping sts, yarn over, decreases (ssk/k2tog), increases (M1L/M1R), picking up stitches, I-cord bind off.
Gauge
17 sts & 28 rows=4” {10cm} blocked, knitted flat in lace pattern with US4 {3.5mm}.

Row 1: K1, yo, K3, yo, to last st, yo, K1. Row 2: P all.
Row 3: K2, sk2po, K1, to last st, K1. Row 4: P all.
Material
Suggested yarn: Scheepjes Linen Soft. (148yds/50g) (135m/50g).
Fibre content: 27% Linen/47% Cotton/26% Acrylic. The sample is shown in the colourway ”610”.
Or other DK weight yarn with similar fibre content.
Total yardage:
Short sleeve version: 736 (823, 862, 952) (1055, 1117, 1141) (1222, 1322, 1394, 1466)yds {673 (753, 788, 871) (965, 1021, 1043) (1117, 1209, 1275, 1341) m}.
3/4 sleeve version: 748 (835, 875, 965) (1068, 1129, 1154) (1234, 1334, 1406, 1480)yds {684 (764, 800, 882) (977, 1032, 1055) (1128, 1220, 1286, 1353)m}.
Needles: US4 {3.5mm} and US1.5 {2.5mm} circular needles with at least 24” {60cm} cable (or other size needed to obtain gauge).
Other: Tapestry needle to weave in ends, waste yarn (smooth cotton yarn is best) to put sts on hold.
Ten stitch markers.
