’A modern take on a 1940s-style scarf knit in Aran wool’
MATERIALS
2 50g balls of West Yorkshire Spinners Blue-faced Leicester Aran Wool (pictured in ‘pomegranate’)
1 pair of 5mm needles
A tapestry needle
A stitch holder (optional)
TENSION
20 sts and 30 rows over 10cm square on 5mm needles
MEASUREMENTS
Total Length: 28 inches
Neck Length: 18 inches
Width: 5 inches
TECHNIQUES
Casting on, Casting off, Rib, Shaping:- Increasing & Decreasing, Joining two pieces of fabric together seamlessly (photo-illustrated), picking up stitches (modular knitting - joining as you go), garter stitch
