Pomme de pin adult sweater
I worked this lovely, grab-and-go sweater to compliment my childs sweater:

And I was so pleased to see how well it works out in an adult version!
And the sizing goes from 32.5” up until 59” meaning that the whole family could match:)
Design
The front of this sweater is the real eye-catcher here:
The lower body is worked in 2 sections, 1 in moss-sts, 1 in cables, divided by a twisted st. The sleeves and also the back of the lower body are worked in stockinette sts.
The upper body of the front, as well as the back are worked in a textured stitch-pattern. All patterns are super-easy, repetetive and easy to memorize!
The sleeves are worked with a sleeve-cap for a great fit.
Shoulders are bound off from RS to create an extra relief.
Construction
The lower body is worked bottom-up and in-the-round to underarms. The upper front and back are worked flat in separate pieces. Shoulders are bound off using the 3-needle bind-off.
The sleeves are worked top-down from picked-up sts, starting from a sleeve-cap created by simple short-rows. When all sts are integrated main sleeve is worked top-down and in-the-round.
The neckline is worked from picked-up sts.

Finished chest measurements are:
Size 1: 82.5 cm/32.5” / Size 2: 89 cm/35” / Size 3: 96 cm/38” /
Size 4: 102 cm/40” / Size 5: 109 cm/43” / Size 6: 116 cm/45.5” / Size 7: 122 cm/48” / Size 8: 129 cm/51” Size 9: 135 cm/53.5” / Size 10: 142 cm/56” / Size 11: 150 cm/59”
Sample is worked in size 2 with 3” of positive ease.
Length might be adjusted for sleeves and/or lower body.
Materials
Yarn: I used Arbor from Brooklyn Tweed to work the cardigan. This yarn of DK weight comes in skeins of 50 gr/1.76oz and 133 meters/145yards. You will need 9/10/11/12/13/14/15/16/17/18/19 skeins of this specific yarn to work the cardigan. You might substitute for any DK weight yarn that knits up to gauge. Yardage might vary from one knitter to another, and from one yarn to another.
Needles: circulars 3.5 mm/US4 and 4 mm/US6. Dpns 3.5 mm/US4 and 4 mm/US6. Use needles to obtain gauge.
Gauge
24 sts and 30-32 rounds/rows in stockinette sts, as well as in stitch-patterns = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.
The pattern
The cables and the moss-sts of the lower body are charted as well as written out round-by-round.
The stitch-pattern of the upper body is written out.
There is a schematic.
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
All necessary stitch-counts are given.
Knitting skills: intermediate.
Techniques: cast-on / 3-needle bind-off / cables following chart and/or written instructions / working in-the-round / picking up sts / simple short-row shaping (no nead to pick up wraps)
