Pomona Sweater
Pomona Sweater is knitted in the round, from the bottom up, in stranded colourwork following a chart. The armholes are steeked, the shoulder stitches are grafted together, and the neckband is worked. Then the sleeves are knitted and sewn onto the body. Front and back are identical.
Tension:
24 sts and 30 rows in stranded colourwork using size 3.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm (measured after washing)
Size:
1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6)
Finished measurements:
Chest circumference: 92 (100) 108 (117) 125 (133) cm
Total length: 51 (51) 51 (55) 55 (55) cm
The sweater has a positive ease of approx. 15 cm. If your chest measurement is 95 cm, add 15 cm. This gives you 110 cm, so you should knit size M, which has a chest circumference of 108 cm.
Yarn:
Finull from Rauma (50 g = 175 m):
Col A: 200 (200) 250 (250) 250 (300) g
Col B: 100 (100) 150 (150) 150 (150) g
Col C: 50 (50) 50 (100) 100 (100) g
For the sweater on the picture the following colours have been used: col A = 4078, col B = 435, col C = 476.
Materials:
3 and 3.5 mm circular needle (80 or 100 cm)
3.5 mm circular needle (40 cm) and 3 mm double pointed needles for the neck and the sleeves (unless you’re using the magic loop technique)
