You only need a small amount of yarn and these really could be made with just about any size of yarn. This project is great for your scrap yarn. I had some 3 weight that I doubled up and I did some in 4 and 5 weight.

I found the 4 weight to be the best for this size of pompom but you could also experiment with other sizes and just go up or down a hook size based on the recommendation for that type of yarn.

Gauge is not important for this project.

I used some wooden glossy beads for the nose - approximately 12mm or 1/2”. You could also use painted wood beads, blown glass or ceramic beads, fabric covered buttons or bobble type buttons.
Anything from 10-30 mm or 1/2” to 1 1/2” .

I used 5.5” faux fur pompons with the elastic loop.

Small amount of string or yarn for the hangers – 10 to 12 inches for each.

This can be put together with or without a hot glue gun.
