Poncho Sweater
Description - An oversized pullover poncho sweater with stand up collar and drop stitch detailing on the sleeves and center panels, front and back. Knit on Bulky Gauge Machine in plating stitch in Linen and Bambu yarns. This finished garment combines the softness and drape of bamboo fiber with the stability and lightness of linen. The entire garment is knit in plating stitch for a uniform blending of the fibers, and to place the softer fiber closer to the skin.
Three variations are offered for the center panels and sleeves. Shown from left to right are Solid Black with bleach discharging to highlight the dropped stitches, plated Black Linen with contrast color Bambu for a marled effect, knit in cream Linen and Bambu with low water immersion dyeing.
(See Ann Johnston’s book Color by Accident for low water immersion dye technique)
