You will need a small hair tie or durable elastic band for this hat. Make sure you find something sturdy enough to last a while as this is what holds your hat together! You may also do a Magic Circle with your yarn on top of your elastic, making sure to leave it long enough to stay together when stretched and tuck the tail inside your hat, so if your elastic ever does break you can simply pull the tail to close the hole and sew in the end.
