Having a horse can be challenging at times, as it forces you to go outside in every weather. At least against the cold, we as knitters can do something! This is where these mitts or halfgloves started. Knowing I would work at lot, stuffing hay into feeding nets, holding leading ropes, handling grain, I wanted my hands warm and cosy, but my fingers still exposed and with their full dexterity. Simple fingerless mitts let in too much cold between the fingers, so I went for individual half fingers. Also, as they were intended for use at the stable, why not put horses on the mitts? So here they are.

These mitts do not use a lot of yarn, which makes them a perfect leftover project. If you have really small scraps, you could even do every horse repeat in a different colour. If you are doing a two-coloured version, you will need more of the MC yarn that is used for the fingers than for the CC yarn.

The pattern is written for one size only, designed to fit a medium sized female hand. Size can be adjusted by using different needle size/gauge and yarn weight.
