I decided to create a hat that would work for any ponytail style. This hat has 3 holes down the back of the hat to accommodate multiple levels, and optionally you can add a fourth hole to the top of the hat. The pattern is very flexible, can be made with anywhere from four to zero holes, or it can just be a cable hat.
I updated the pattern to include options for DK, Worsted, Aran and Bulky weight yarn. Lots of choices included in the pattern.
The original pattern required doing a cable on the wrong side of the hat and that has been eliminated to make the hat a little more straightforward to knit.

Wine Rating: 1 Glass while working the cable portion, especially for the first time. The ribbing is boring so save that for when you have had more than 1.
