This cute little hat is worked in the round from the top down. If you’re not sure what size to make, I’d suggest making the larger size you are considering. This hat is very bouncy and stretchy and will fit a range of head sizes!
Materials:
Yarn: Sport Weight:
MC: 80 (100, 120, 150, 180) yards.
CC: 30 (35, 40, 45, 50) yards.
Needles:
US4 /3.5mm dpns or long circular needle for magic loop method.
Notions: Tapestry needle, 6 stitch markers.
Sizing:
Instructions are given for tiny baby size, with (small baby / 0-6m, older baby / 6-12m, toddler / 1-2 years, small child / 3-6 years) sizes in parentheses.
To fit head circumference ~
12-13, (13-15, 15-16.5, 16.5-18, 18-19.5) inches /
30-33 (33-38, 38-42, 42-46, 46-50) cm
with approx. 1 – 3 inches / 3 - 8 cm of negative ease at the brim.
Gauge:
24 st & 32 rows per 4 inches / 10 cm in stockinette stitch.
Adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge.
