Pookalam
This pattern is
available for free.
Onam is a big festival for Kerala, the southernmost part of India. It is also known as the harvest festival and also the homecoming of the mythical king Mahabali. This festival is celebrated with decorations in front of the homes using colorful flowers known as Pookalam.
Pookalam is a simple doily using basic stitches. It is easy to make. It can also be made in one color. Gauge is not important.
The size of the doily will vary depending on the size of thread you choose. Size 10 might give a smaller doily. The pattern has used four colors of thread.
