From Charlotte’s Web, to Babe, to Peppa, the pig is a perennial favourite animal to feature in pop culture. Maybe it’s their adorable pug snouts, or their tightly, curled tails. Whatver it be, I am a big fan of the pig! Now, here is Pookie. Pookie Le Pig, the Amigurumi doll. Pookie is a cuddly, mischievous pig who is a joy to make and will be loved by whomever he meets. He is sure to make a delightful addition to any child’s soft toy collection.

Pookie le Pig is a satisfying project that is relatively fast to make, and uses only 85 grams of yarn (dk/ 8ply). The legs are joined as you go, and you won’t need to worry about colour changes, though make it multi-coloured if you like. This pattern includes easy to follow instructions on how to make the pig and will teach you how to join legs as you go. A diagram with detailed steps are included to help you with this technique.

Gauge is not important for this pattern. I have listed some yarns that you can use above, but feel free to choose whatever yarn you like. If you use a heavier or lighter weight yarn, keep in mind that this will change the size of your finished product. With a 4.5mm hook and 8 ply yarn, the pig measures approximately 28 cm (11 inches) height.
