Pool of Light Blanket
Explore some simple Tunisian stitches to create a beautiful, functional baby or lap blanket. I wanted to experiment with a fingering-weight yarn and design something that was relatively straight forward, so that I could enjoy the rhythm of the stitches without constantly referring to the pattern. I set myself the challenge of using only three basic Tunisian stitches for the body of the blanket: Tunisian simple stitch, Tunisian purl stitch and Tunisian knit stitch, with the addition of a small section of bobbles for texture. The corner of the blanket is turned using a simple increase. I used one Scheepjes Whirl in Banana Cream Hi, and part of a matching whirlette in Custard (no, I don’t know why it’s called Custard when the colour is a pale indigo blue) for the edging. The size can be easily changed - make more rows of Honeycomb to create a larger blanket, but you would need more yarn. If you prefer to only use a single whirl, reduce the Honeycomb section to leave enough yarn for the edging.
Pool of Light Blanket - Materials

1 x Scheepjes Whirlette (60% cotton, 40% acrylic) 100g/455m
Hook: 5.5mm Tunisian crochet hook with extension cord, and a 3.5mm standard crochet hook for the edging.
