I used Caron Cotton Cakes by Yarnspirations. You get 250g in these huge cakes and 530 yds of a very soft 60% cotton, 40% acrylic yarn. They have a really good selection of variegated yarn and solids. All of the colors scream summer, the decision is yours, I had to go with watermelon. You will need 1 to 3 cakes depending on the size you will be making.
