I knit socks so I have a lot of little balls of leftovers that need to be used for something. There are lots of good ideas on Ravelry, and recently I came across Wendy Johnson’s Leftovers Cowl and Jill McGee’s My Favorite Things cowl. Don’t really like cowls but after this last winter I do want something warm that bundles up around my neck. I just don’t want to be pulling it over my head. Also these two cowls, pretty as they are, are just too big and heavy looking. So this will be my take off on their ideas.

Everybody seems to like this neck warmer and wants the pattern. Truly, I don’t have much in the line of a pattern but here is a recipe that you can use and fill in with your favorite charted designs.

1/8/2015 I updated this project a bit by ripping out the last third for a do over. The anchors and waves with fish just did not work. So the pictures here have changed (except the top one) to show some of the changes.
