The pattern was born out of necessity one fall morning when trying to figure out what to knit my sister for Christmas. She asked for a simple pair of mittens and I had already made those. I had extra yarn left over because who can buy just one skein of yarn? I was making a blanket out of the MJ Yarn’s Rustic Fingering and using the same stitch and said, “Let’s make a cowl!” and the pattern was born.

It uses one skein of Skeindalous Adalie or MJ Yarns Silken DK.
