The name for this hat came from the way the lace resembles poplar tree leaves. We have a lot of poplars in Minnesota and right now they are in peak autumn color. This is the first pattern I’ve designed using my own hand spun yarn, and I’ve included my spinning notes for those who wish to spin a similar yarn. I’ve also written the pattern for a commercial dk weight yarn so you can knit one up from the yarn in your stash!
