Notes
Hat is worked in-the-round.
My Dad (a.k.a Popper) had this hat since before I had been born. It went everywhere with us, skiing at Bear Mountain, back to Greece (even though it never really got cold enough to wear there), and on the everyday car ride. This hat was such a part of him that when it blew off the balcony one day a neighbor found it, recognized it and returned it to us.
Sadly, Popper passed away and my sister and I split up the various mementos. She got the hat but I decided I wanted one too. This pattern is an homage to Popper’s Hat. It’s not an exact copy, I designed it to be simpler to knit (the original was machine made) but it still retains the style and colors of the original.
Here’s to you Dad.
