Poppies Grow
“In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row”
I made this cloth of a poppy for Remembrance Day to show my respect and gratitude to the people who fought and continue to fight for my country. Who fought for the freedoms that we all now have to concern ourselves with our own lives and to choose what we do with them. I’m grateful that I get to choose to do this somewhat silly job of selling my patterns to people from all over the world and for that I dedicate a piece of it to the ones we owe it to.
“If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.”
This cloth uses my unique rounded diamond cloth pattern. The shape is created using simple and discreet increases and decreases with knits and purls to make the picture. I have made a plain one in the past inspired by stained glass windows and I have a 6 piece set of Christmas Cloths available individually and as an ebook
