Poppy Fairy Bookmark
Do you love Poppies? My older sister’s favorite flower was the red Poppy. When her daughter asked me to design one for her my mind went flying to all the different ways to make this delightful bookmark or decoration. She would look wonderful mounted in a shadow box on any wall.
She is a fun fairy to make. The pattern includes picture tutorials as well as written instructions to take you step by step to completion.
She has been tested by two other talented people to catch any typos or errors. They really enjoyed making her.
Materials you will need to make this delightful fairy:
bedspread weight cotton thread (size 10)
16 yards light peach (or choice of skin color)
30 yards red (or choice of dress, hat and flower petals color)
10 yards black (or choice of dress waist, hat center and poppy center color)
40 yards light green (or choice of wings, shoes, and, stem,) Use small amount of darker green for eyes
Small amount red (or choice of mouth color) could also use embroidery floss
3 yards black (or choice of hair color) worsted weight yarn
Small amount of polyester fiberfill.
Tapestry needle
Steel Crochet hook size 1 (2.25mm) (This is a larger hook than is usually used with thread and makes the fairy large enough.)
