Throughout October and November, wearing a scarlet poppy is a sign of remembrance in the UK, tying in with Remembrance Sunday on 9 November. It’s particularly poignant this year, as August 2014 saw the WW1 Centenary – the 100th anniversary of Britain entering the conflict.
